Recently one of our customers brought into our shop a custom gold ring he was interested in having repaired. The issue at hand was the shank of the ring had become extremely worn; to the point it was breaking at the bottom. Instead of repairing the shank itself, we decided replicating the favored ring was the best bet to ensure it’s longevity. We carved a new wax mold of the same style ring and made the shank heavier and thicker. Posted below are before and after photographs.
